Unique Farm to Fork Event
Hosted by The Evening Star Cafe
Wednesday, September 10 @ 7 O'Clock
A Celebration of
the
Tomato

The deservedly ballyhooed farm to table philosophy is very much alive and well in Del Ray and will take center stage on Wednesday, September 10 at the Evening Star Cafe. The summer's sweetest tomatoes are the star attraction at this unique dinner hosted by The Evening Star, Planet Wine and FRESHFARM Markets.
Chef Will Artley and his team will prepare a five-course feast built around farm fresh tomatoes and local products provided by Three Way Farm, Eight Acres Farm, Smith Meadows Farm and Dragon Creek Aqua Farm. Additionally, all of the evening's wines will be sourced from a few of Virginia's finest growers.
The dinner is priced at just $75 per person plus tax and gratuity and includes wine pairings. These farm dinners (similar dinners have been hosted by both Rustico and Vermilion) are designed to introduce our guests to their local farmers, and to inform us all about the origins of our food. The event will feature the different local producers talking about their seasonal products, the areas growing conditions and the skills required to grow quality produce. Chef Will Artley will also talk to diners about Evening Star Cafe's dedication to seasonal produce and his local purveyors.
These dinners are being offered on an ongoing basis at each of our restaurants, with a fourth currently on the books for Tallula in January of 2009.
For reservations, please call Evening Star Cafe at 703-549-5051.
