Over the last ten years, the Evening Star Cafe has been featured in reviews and articles in numerous publications, including The Washington Post (in the Food Section, Weekend Section, and Washington Post Magazine), Washingtonian, Gourmet, The Washington Times, Southern Living, Washington City Paper, Washington Flyer, Alexandria Town Talk, and The Old Town Crier, to name a few.

The Evening Star won recognition in the annual readers' poll sponsored and published by Washingtonian, being named "Best New Restaurant" in 1998 and "Best Restaurant in Alexandria" in 2001. The restaurant has also been included in Washingtonian's Top 100 Restaurants in Washington from 1999 to the present. The magazine has also named our brunch one of the "Best Brunches" in Washington, the Majestic Lounge one of its "Best Neighborhood Bars," and the No. 9 Lounge as one of the "Ultimate Party Rooms" in Virginia. In addition, the Evening Star Cafe has annually received the prestigious Zagat Award of Distinction, and Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence.
